HuntedTools is a free, open directory of tools of every kind — software, websites, apps, physical tools and services — ordered by one transparent score.
Why this exists
Finding a good tool should take a minute, not an afternoon of sponsored "top 10" posts. Existing directories either cover only software, or charge to be listed, or both. HuntedTools covers everything from stone chisels to rocket simulators, costs nothing to join, and ranks by real people's signals.
Two kinds of hunters
Searchers browse, search and filter without an account. Listers sign in with Google to add tools, rate, vote and review. Most people become both.
Principles
- Free to list, free to search. Forever. Revenue comes from clearly labelled sponsorships and advertising that never touch the ranking.
- One formula, published. See how ranking works.
- Same scale for everything. A hammer and a code editor are judged with the same signals, plus optional category-specific ones.
- Real people only. Google sign-in, one vote per person, no self-votes.
Who builds it
HuntedTools is built in Chennai by Manikandan V and open to contributors. The stack is SvelteKit, TypeScript and Cloudflare (Workers + D1). Read the build log.
